Grace Qian is an oil painter based in Toronto, Canada. She graduated with honors and a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2024. Her solo exhibitions include Becoming More at the Arts Etobicoke Storefront Gallery in Toronto, and Brief Encounters at the SVA Flatiron Gallery in New York. Selected group exhibitions include the Artist Project Art Fair in Toronto, Fragment Gallery in New York, and the New York Academy of Art. She was awarded the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant in 2023, and attended the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT in 2025. Her practice explores the tension between a space’s assumed function and its lived reality, tracing how cultural rituals and inherited habits govern movement, intention, and belonging within domestic environments.
